The airport is 30km from Gold Coast, and is perfectly situated for exploring the area, with the M1 running north and south from the airport. Our second office is on Surfers Paradise Boulevard in Surfers Paradise, with entry via Laycock Street.

Soak up the nightlife, enjoy the beautiful beaches and get your adrenaline rush at the local theme parks. But there’s so much more to the Gold Coast and it would be a shame not to use your rental car to explore the wider area.

Brisbane is 90 minutes away and offers a different city experience to the Gold Coast. Queensland isn’t called the Sunshine State for no reason, and the state’s capital enjoys a year-round subtropical climate, making it a pleasure to explore. For the best views of the city – and if you have a head for heights – climb the Story Bridge 80m above the Brisbane River. You can even abseil down if you’re feeling brave! If you’re after some more relaxing activities, Southbank is the place to go. This riverside area boasts a city beach, promenades, galleries, museums, and some of the city’s best restaurants and bars, as well as a giant ferris wheel – the Wheel of Brisbane.

If it’s a taste of nature you’re after, head 150km north to Australia Zoo to see all the quintessential Aussie natives such as kangaroos, koalas, emus, dingoes, and crocodiles. There are also tigers, rhinos, meerkats, zebras, giraffes, cheetahs, and elephants. Educational shows and demonstrations explain more about the animals housed here and provide great entertainment for little kids – and even big kids! The zoo is spread over a huge 110 acres so make sure you’re wearing comfy shoes!
