Our airport rental desk is located in the airport terminal next to the check in desks. The Hobart City Express bus service runs between the airport and the city every 30 minutes. Driving into the city in your rental car will take around 20 minutes. Alternatively, our convenient city centre office is perfect if you are spending time in Hobart, or if you’re using the city as a base to explore the island more widely. There are a number of bus stations within a 10 minute walk and the ferry terminal is a five minute drive away.

Thanks to our wide range of vehicles, you can choose the car to suit you, wherever you’re going and however much you need to carry! Choose one of our smaller models if you’re staying local and will be spending your time exploring Hobart and nearby attractions such as Mount Wellington or the local wineries. For longer journeys to the island’s stunning national parks and rugged coastlines, an SUV will get you around in comfort.

The capital of Tasmania, Hobart is a city of rich history and culture and you can easily while away a day or two soaking up its beautiful architecture, museums and galleries. Don’t miss the quirky Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) – a very different experience to your usual art gallery! And after all that sight-seeing, the harbour is a beautiful place to sit and enjoy a cold drink and some delicious seafood while watching the world go by!

But it would be a waste to have a hire car and not use it to explore more of what Tasmania has to offer. 90km away is the unique Tasmanian Devil Unzoo, designed to allow visitors to view and interact with wildlife rather than simply viewing animals in cages. Enclosures are minimal and are hidden where possible, so that humans can step into the animals’ habitats and see them up close. A truly memorable experience – kids especially will love a day at this zoo that’s not a zoo!

Further away – but well worth the drive – is the Bay of Fires, on Tasmania’s east coast. The bay stretches for 50km and if you drive initially to Binalong Bay you can then work your way along this stunning coastline, stopping off as the fancy takes you. The bay is named for its red rock landscape and doesn’t disappoint!
