Sitting in a picturesque spot at the mouth of the Tamar River in the north of Tasmania, Launceston is an attractive town and boasts beautiful parks, gardens and 19 century buildings. Make sure you take the 15 minute walk along the river to Cataract Gorge where you can get a chairlift to the top to enjoy stunning views of the town and surrounding countryside. And for a quirky bit of sightseeing, head to the Old Umbrella Shop, now an umbrella museum!

Time to explore some of Tasmania’s gorgeous countryside? Jump in your car and drive an hour south west to Liffey Falls, a series of simply beautiful cascading waterfalls.
